DESCRIPTION:Pickle Jar Productions is thrilled to present its debut production\, Charlotte Lucas is 27 and NOT Dead!\, a 19-person pop-rock musical set in the romantic world of Jane Austen.  \n\n\n\nCharlotte Lucas is 27\, unwed\, and surrounded by romance-obsessed twenty-year-olds in the marriage-centric society of 1812. Charlotte is afraid she’ll never marry\, and certain that she’ll never love. Still\, she aspires to marriage for all of its practicality and comfort\, and takes solace in the company of her best friend in the world\, Elizabeth Bennet. While Lizzy and her sisters’ bewildering romantic entanglements unfold around her\, Charlotte begins to question whether there is a kind of love that appeals to her after all. When Mr. Collins proposes\, offering Charlotte the comfortable life that she’s long aspired to\, Charlotte is faced with an impossible choice.  \n\n\n\nA queer retelling of Pride & Prejudice\, Charlotte Lucas is 27 and NOT Dead! makes its Canadian debut on the NACC stage. You are cordially invited to join us for an evening of original music\, comedy and scandal!  \n\n\n\nScript and original score written by Jessie Field and James Martinez Salem  \n\n\n\nPickle Jar Productions (PJP) was founded in early 2026 by Chelsea Thacker\, local stage / production manager and performer in Yellowknife’s performing arts scene. Chelsea’s goal for PJP is to bring more queer stories to life while creating mentorship opportunities for those just starting out in the behind-the-scenes of the performing arts world. \n\n\n\nRecommended for audiences aged 15+. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is organized by:
