SUMMARY:Springtime Marmalade
DESCRIPTION:Springtime Marmalade reimagines Botticelli’s masterpiece in a jubilant collision of Renaissance poetry and raw punk energy. On stage\, elegance rubs shoulders with rebellion\, delicacy flirts with the absurd\, and humour appears where you least expect it. \n\n\n\nThis show doesn’t just revisit “Primavera”. It transgresses\, disrupts\, and reinvents it. Here\, bodies explode\, emotions overflow\, and each character reveals his or her flaws\, impulses and contradictions. It’s a dazzling mix in which recurring symbols\, like oranges\, remind us of our capacity to let go of our peels\, to reveal what bubbles up inside us\, and to welcome the unexpected part of the other. They become a sign of everything that mixes and invents itself through contact with others. \n\n\n\nSpringtime Marmalade invites us not to remain mere spectators\, but to let ourselves be surprised\, to question\, to plunge into this boiling marmalade. Here\, each one of us moves forward\, unvarnished\, and the encounter takes place in what overflows\, escapes and surprises. \n\n\n\nSpringtime Marmalade is an embodied reflection on identity\, the quest for meaning\, social cohesion\, and a joyful yet desperate revolt. An invitation to explore the complexity of human relationships\, to let anger and joy coexist\, and to celebrate vulnerability as strength. \n\n\n\nHere\, hybridity reigns: classical and punk\, sweetness and bite\, introspection and exuberance. The show becomes a physical manifesto for “being together”\, a cry for freedom in which everyone embraces their place\, their questions\, their intimate echoes. In short: an experience to be lived\, felt and questioned – without sinking into cliché or easiness. Springtime Marmalade: three impulses – that of the heart\, that of the body and that of exuberance – to compose\, together\, an ode to life that makes no apologies for being (sometimes)irreverent. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSURSAUT DANCE COMPANY is dedicated to the creation\, production and presentation of contemporary dance performances. Philosophical\, dynamic and joyful\, with a touch of absurdity\, the company’s choreographic works bear witness to the maturity of an evolving artistic approach which\, for over thirty years\, has focused on young audiences and families. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is organized by:

SUMMARY:lossy
DESCRIPTION:lossy is about an inability to take it all with us. these are bodies at a loss\, gathering together in a stream of movement. a state of recovery. seeking\, sifting\, grasping for an anchor. these are the bodies that were left behind\, haunted by the ghostly traces of lost futures. a nostalgia for a world that never happened. it is at once real and science fiction\, digital and embodied. \n\n\n\nthis liminal space holds a confrontation with the promise of future\, and ever-present absences. a collision between our inexorable\, ecstatic draw towards the limitless new\, and a continuous loss – a perpetual state of mourning for what we are leaving behind. these are bodies compressed and incomplete. there is no answer. there is only the stream\, and the blurring fragments of what we attempt to bring with us. \n\n\n\nlossy is a warped ritual of transcendence. it is a carefree conjuring of a shiny new future “us”\, and a collective grieving for what the future may no longer hold\, once we finally arrive. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLed by artistic co-directors Lisa Mariko Gelley and Josh Martin\, Company 605 is an arts organization based in Vancouver\, on the traditional\, unceded territories of the Musqueam\, Squamish\, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. Producing various dance projects and performances through shared creative process\, the artists place emphasis on rigorous choreographic propositions and movement exploration – juxtaposing raw with precision\, and highlighting effort\, risk and interconnection. \n\n\n\n605 is an ongoing exchange between separate people\, bodies and ideas\, with each project seeking and celebrating the unique possibilities created in their attempt to co-exist. Valuing collaboration as a critical path for new directions in dance\, Company 605 continues to transform and build on an ever-evolving aesthetic\, with multiple choreographic voices in pursuit of an embodied art form derived from the human experience. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis event is organized by:
