Bella Dance Academy presents "The Wizard Of Oz"

In this classic tale, Dorothy Gale daydreams about a land somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Dorothy runs away from her farm as her cranky neighbour, Miss Gulch tries to take her beloved dog Toto from her.   A powerful tornado strikes without warning and Dorothy and Toto along with Dorothy’s house are swept away from the black-and-white Kansas farm. Dorothy’s house lands in the magical, beautiful, dangerous, and Technicolor land of Oz, killing the evil Witch of the East, ruler of Munchkin land.

After being given the red ruby slippers by Glinda, good Witch of the North, and threatened by the wicked Witch of the West, Dorothy is told to “follow the yellow brick road” to find the Wizard of Oz. Throughout her dangerous journey, Dorothy meets three friends who could use their own help from the Wizard. The brainless Scarecrow, the rigid Tin Man, and the cowardly Lion all continue to Ease On Down The Road toward the Emerald City.

The road is long and full of dangers. Can Dorothy and her friends escape the wicked Witch and her army of flying monkeys? Can the Wizard grant the foursome the things that they seek and return Dorothy home to her Kansas Farm?

The show includes over 45 individual and group dances performed by 400 dedicated Yellowknife dancers.

Fun for the whole family.
